Job summary

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a phlebotomy program through a post‑secondary school or college accredited by a regional or national accrediting organization recognized by the US Department of Education
• Current WA State Medical‑Assistant/Phlebotomist certificate, or the ability to obtain certification within 60 days with proof of application

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and/or capillary blood collection as ordered by provider
• Process samples to prepare for laboratory testing
• Perform waived patient testing and quality control
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
• Use IT systems to register patients, schedule appointments, process orders, enter results, and communicate with providers and other departments
• Participate in training of new staff and student externs
• Comply with all local, state, and federal requirements for healthcare institutions and medical laboratories including CLIA and WA DOH
