Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a phlebotomist float to join our team in Norfolk, VA. This Per Diem/Casual position has hours as needed and will not exceed 19 hours per week.

Responsibilities include blood collections by venipuncture, collecting specimens for drug screens, data entry, billing, preparing specimens, and maintaining logs. Travel to additional sites may be required, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completion of a phlebotomy training program or 6 months’ or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• Preferred: 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
• Other Duties as assigned
