Job summary

The American Red Cross in Manhattan, KS is seeking individuals to join our blood collection team. No prior medical experience is required as paid phlebotomy training is provided; you will assist with every step of the blood collection process and help create a welcoming environment for donors.

Responsibilities include transporting and setting up equipment, ensuring safety procedures, and supporting a friendly donor experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights and stand for long periods; ability to adapt to irregular hours.
• Minimum height of 60 inches may be required to operate Red Cross vehicles.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with blood collection at donation sites and support donors.
• Collaborate with team to transport and set up equipment.
• Create a welcoming environment to encourage donor return.
• Ensure safety procedures and regulatory requirements are met.
• Operate Red Cross vehicles and assist with setting up/tearing down at sites.
• Schedule may include early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
