Job summary

Laboratory Sciences of Arizona is seeking a Phlebotomist Apprentice for the Glendale site. The role supports phlebotomy teams with patient specimen collection, processing, and accurate labeling, in a fast-paced health care setting.

The apprentice will learn on the job, interact directly with patients, and help ensure quality and confidentiality in line with HIPAA and lab standards. This is a full-time, day-shift position with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older and a high school graduate or GED.
• Good reading, writing and math abilities.
• Basic computer skills; fingerprinting certification or ability to obtain.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples and ensure proper patient identification.
• Prepare specimens for lab testing and label accurately.
• Assist with specimen processing and data entry in the system.
• Support billing and maintain productive, low error rates.
• Provide compassionate, professional patient service and communication.
