Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a NAACLS approved phlebotomy program preferred.
• Phlebotomist certification with ASCP or AMT preferred.
• Demonstrates knowledge to provide age-appropriate care.
• Knowledge of growth and development relevant to patient groups.
• Assess and interpret data to identify patient needs across age ranges.
• Shifts/weekends scheduled; 32 hours weekly.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen collection procedures, including venipuncture and finger-sticks, with aseptic technique.
• Obtains blood and nonblood specimens for laboratory testing.
• Verifies patient identification and reports discrepancies for correction.
• Delivers verified specimens to appropriate areas and updates LIS accordingly.
• Assists with training students and new staff in collection procedures and LIS use.
