Job summary

Jobtailor in New Jersey is seeking a seasoned phlebotomist with oncology experience to join our clinical team. You will perform venipuncture, verify patient identity, and ensure specimen integrity while adhering to CAP/CLIA standards.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule testing and determine effective blood collection methods
  • Perform venipunctures and obtain blood specimens
  • Verify patient identity and test requisitions against EMR records; resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic techniques, protocols, and isolation procedures
  • Document specimen initials, collection dates and times, and maintain daily logs
  • Coordinate patient care services and align blood draw times with clinic requirements
  • Access patient records and schedule appointments
  • Collaborate with Field Sales and internal operations teams to support patients and continuity of care
  • Maintain patient relationships and encourage ongoing testing and adherence to care plans
  • Liaise with accounts and Sales; document interactions, communications, and follow-ups
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues
  • Resolve missing information and maintain turnaround-time expectations
  • Communicate delays and cancellations and facilitate sample redraws
  • Investigate escalated issues and explain root causes and resolutions by phone and electronic communication
  • Adhere to CAP CLIA standards, healthcare regulations, organizational policies, and clinical safety procedures
  • Record quality-control outcomes, monitor process-improvement needs, and report them
