Job Overview

Provides leadership, instruction, and guidance to the collection staff during blood drives or at branches. Performs blood collection procedures in accordance with policies, FDA regulations, and AABB standards. Responsible for driving the blood mobile if assigned to mobiles.

Essential Functions

1. Leads and guides collection staff, including scheduling breaks.
2. Ensures staff compliance with policies and procedures.
3. Obtains donor medical history and vitals.
4. Performs phlebotomy and blood collection procedures.
5. Completes shift responsibilities, reviews records and documents for accuracy.
6. Supports donor recruitment and collection goals.
7. Maintains equipment and supplies.
8. Monitors performance and equipment issues for training needs.
9. Provides excellent customer service and communicates issues to recruitment staff.
10. If assigned to mobiles, drives bloodmobile and collection vehicles to/from sites.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent with six months related experience. If working on mobiles, must pass CDL pre-qualification, training, and obtain a CDL; CPR certification required.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

Tasks may involve lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, standing for long periods, and driving mobile units. Work environment includes indoor/outdoor conditions, exposure to weather, blood-borne pathogens, and noise.
