Job Summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Team Leader in Asheville, NC. The position is Monday–Friday, with hours varying from 6:30am to 6:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy duties.
• Assist in supervising a team of phlebotomists across multiple Patient Service Centers and client sites.
• Observe new employee performance and report observations to the supervisor.
• Conduct regular site inspections and accurately report all findings.
• Provide continuous training to phlebotomy staff as directed.
• Complete new hire and annual competency assessments when necessary.
• Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels, and information logs.
• Address customer service related issues promptly and respectfully.
• Review daily/weekly schedules with the supervisor and adjust as needed.
• Promote teamwork, cohesiveness, and effective communication among coworkers.
• Perform phlebotomy and site coordinator duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of experience as a phlebotomist.

Preferred Qualifications

• Five (5) years of phlebotomy experience.

Additional Job Standards

• Phlebotomy certification or completion of an accredited training program acceptable in lieu of experience.
• Ability to pass a standardized color‑blindness test.
• In‑depth knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities, and techniques.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record with reliable transportation.
• Minimum age of 21 years.
