Job summary

Geisinger Medical Laboratories is hiring a Phlebotomist I/II/III to collect blood and other specimens in inpatient and clinic settings. You will perform venipunctures and skin punctures, ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling, and support a high-quality patient experience in a fast-paced laboratory.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to CLSI guidelines, and ongoing competency validation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years related work experience required.
• ASCP certification (CPT) preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens following CLSI guidelines.
• Accurately identify patients, label, and process specimens.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
• Work independently and as part of a laboratory team; escalate issues as needed.
• Mentor students and new employees; comply with competency requirements.
