Job summary

Geisinger Primary Care Pottsville seeks a Phlebotomist to join our team in a day shift. You will collect blood specimens, ensure proper labeling, and support patient care in a clinical laboratory setting.

Responsibilities include venipunctures, specimen processing, and collaboration with clinicians to maintain best-practice safety and quality. A range of levels (I–III) may be considered with compensation reflecting experience.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomist duties include blood collection and specimen labeling according to CLSI guidelines.
• Experience or training in phlebotomy and patient identification is preferred.
• Ability to work in a clinical laboratory environment with teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens.
• Label, accession, process, and prepare specimens for testing.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.
• Mentor students and new employees; adhere to competency checks.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and problem solving.
