The role emphasizes patient safety, collaboration with clinical staff, and ongoing competency. Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED and ASCP certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• ASCP Certification preferred/required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens according to CLSI guidelines.
• Demonstrates expertise in patient identification, specimen collection, labeling, accessioning, and processing.
• Exhibits strong problem solving skills and works effectively in a team environment.
• Escalates issues to supervisory staff as needed and maintains patient safety.
• Mentors students and new employees and supports continuous improvement in the lab.
