St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team on a PRN, varied shifts. You will perform phlebotomy and specimen collection, ensure specimen integrity, and support lab operations in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You’ll handle labeling, accessioning, LIS data maintenance, and courier specimen registration while responding to STAT and urgent requests with accuracy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Phlebotomy certification (CPT) or health-related experience preferred; on-the-job training may be provided.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Typing and basic computer skills required.

Responsabilités

• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection using proper techniques and age-appropriate devices.
• Ensure safe handling and proper collection methods to maintain specimen integrity and quality.
• Follow correct procedures for labeling, accessioning, and delivering specimens to the appropriate department.
• Maintain the specimen collection component of the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Perform patient registration functions for courier specimens.
• Respond promptly and professionally to STAT, ASAP, NOW, and outpatient collection requests.
• Communicate effectively with departments and alerting appropriate staff regarding STAT orders.
