Qualifications

• HR diploma or GED required
• Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required or certification may be considered in lieu of experience
• Acute care hospital experience strongly preferred
• Skilled phlebotomy technique; BLS within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and instruct them in proper specimen collection methods
• Draw blood specimens using finger sticks, heel sticks, or venipuncture
• Label specimens for identification and enter data into the computer
• Prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis
• Assist with clerical duties by answering telephone calls
