Job summary

Medical City Arlington is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. You will perform phlebotomy procedures to obtain specimens for laboratory testing and assist with clerical duties as needed.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, instructing on specimen collection, labeling and data entry, and preparing samples for multiple departments. A strong focus on accuracy and patient care is required.

Qualifications

• Must have HR diploma or GED.
• Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience or certification.
• Acute care hospital experience preferred.
• BLS within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and instruct on proper specimen collection.
• Draw blood via finger sticks, heel sticks, or venipuncture and collect other specimens.
• Label specimens and enter data into the computer.
• Prepare samples for multiple departments (microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, urinalysis).
• Assist with clerical duties including answering calls.
