Job summary

A-Team Solutions seeks a Phlebotomist for a PRN floating contract, supporting VA outpatient clinics from Daytona to Deltona as needed. Shifts 7:30am-4:00pm or 7:30am-4:30pm on weekdays.

Responsibilities include performing venipuncture and specimen collection, processing specimens, training others, and coordinating with Medical Staff for patient care. Requires phlebotomy certification, high school diploma, and 2+ years experience; BLS is required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Certified phlebotomy training program.
• Minimum 2 years phlebotomy experience in inpatient or outpatient settings.
• Experience with accessioning of laboratory specimens.
• Experience with processing of laboratory specimens.
• Capable of reading SOPs and adhering to current laboratory processes.
• Communicate clearly the daily status and problems about the laboratory output to team members and senior management.
• Computer literate.
• BLS (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy (venipuncture) and urine specimen collection.
• Obtains venous blood specimens using proper technique.
• Prepares specimens and transports according to tests.
• Assists in training other personnel in proper techniques.
• Performs processing procedures (centrifugation, aliquots).
• Assists in disinfecting and closing the Phlebotomy Room.
• Contacts Medical Staff in handling fainting, convulsions, illness.
• Conveys to patients the intention of phlebotomy with empathy.
