Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in phlebotomy in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
• Experience with accessioning and processing of laboratory specimens.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and urine specimen collection on patients.
• Obtain venous blood specimens using knowledge of human anatomy.
• Prepare the phlebotomy site for proper specimen collection.
• Assist in training other personnel in phlebotomy techniques.
• Perform glucose tolerance testing by administering pretest substances.
