Job summary

Avita Health System in Ohio is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join the Laboratory Department at Avita Hospital locations in Bucyrus, Galion and Ontario. This role performs phlebotomy procedures, specimen processing, and assists with clerical tasks under supervision of the Laboratory Manager.

Required: Current BLS certification and compliance with state and federal regulations. Preferred: prior phlebotomy experience and completion of a certified phlebotomy program; high school diploma or

• Adheres to regulatory requirements including all State, Federal and accrediting body regulations.
• Previous experience working as a Phlebotomist.
• Graduate of a Certified Phlebotomy program.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Position Overview

Under supervision of the Laboratory Manager or designee, maintains laboratory equipment as necessary, assists in clerical duties of the department, assists technicians and technologists as needed, and is responsible for phlebotomy procedures and processing of other specimens.

Qualifications

Required:

• Current BLS certification.
• Adheres to regulatory requirements including all State, Federal and the accrediting body regulations.

Preferred:

• Previous experience working as a Phlebotomist.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Certified Phlebotomy program.
