Job summary

Avita Health System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for the Laboratory Department at Ontario, Galion, or Bucyrus locations in Ohio. Under supervision, the MLT provides lab services to support patient care, maintains chemistry analyzers, and trains staff.

The position requires a Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (or related science with an Associate degree), plus a current BLS certificate. Preferred MT/MLS certification and 3 years of lab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related science with an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Current BLS certificate. Regulated by state/federal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide laboratory services to meet patient needs following accepted standards and practices.
• Perform laboratory procedures to aid in diagnosing and monitoring medical treatment.
• Maintain all chemistry analyzers and train others on proper procedure.

We're currently seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our Laboratory Department at our Ontario, Galion or Bucyrus location.

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager or designee, provides laboratory services to meet the needs of patients performed in accordance with accepted standards and practices. Performs laboratory procedures to provide information for the diagnosing and monitoring of medical treatment. Maintains all chemistry analyzers and provides training to others on proper procedure.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, or Bachelor degree in a laboratory related science (i.e.: microbiology, allied health, etc.) accompanied by an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Current BLS certificate.
• Adheres to regulatory requirements including all State, Federal and the accrediting body regulations.

Preferred

• Certified as Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS); ASCP, AMT(HHS)
• Three years of previous clinical laboratory experience.
