Job summary

Avita Health System is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Laboratory Department at Avita Bucyrus Hospital in Bucyrus, OH. The incumbent will perform phlebotomy and assist in processing specimens under supervision, supporting the laboratory team.

Required BLS certification and compliance with state and federal regulations; preferred experience as a phlebotomist and completion of a certified phlebotomy program.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification is required.
• Must adhere to all State, Federal and accrediting body regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain laboratory equipment as necessary.
• Assist in clerical duties in the department.
• Assist technicians and technologists as needed.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures and processing of other specimens.

Position Overview

Under supervision of the Laboratory Manager or designee, maintains laboratory equipment as necessary, assists in clerical duties of the department, assists technicians and technologists as needed, and is responsible for phlebotomy procedures and processing of other specimens.

Qualifications

Required:

• Current BLS certification.
• Adheres to regulatory requirements including all State, Federal and the accrediting body regulations.

Preferred:

• Previous experience working as a Phlebotomist.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Certified Phlebotomy program.
