Job summary

Responsibilities

Texoma Medical Center, Denison, TX, is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform routine blood drawing procedures, including the proper collection of venous and capillary specimens. The role includes responding to hospital codes as necessary and conducting bedside testing per physician orders. The position also assists with clerical duties and processing of outpatients under the direction of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, Lead Phlebotomists, MLTs, Lead MT/MLT, Assistant Director, and Director of Lab.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED (or highest level of education). Training and certification from National Committee for Lab Standards phlebotomy program preferred. Previous experience preferred.
• ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists) certified as Phlebotomist desired, but not required. Must be able to commute between facilities in a timely manner. Proof of High School Diploma or equivalent required on hire.
• Ability to read, write, and learn a computer system. Ability to obtain laboratory specimens from all age groups. Good verbal communication and listening skills. Demonstrated commitment to teamwork with excellent customer service skills.
