Trilab Health seeks a skilled Phlebotomist for blood draws and specimen collection in Ottawa, IL. The role requires accuracy, reliability, and the ability to work independently in a clinical setting, supporting high-quality patient care.

This part-time, non-exempt position offers fixed Tue/Wed shifts with a total of 12 hours weekly, mileage reimbursement where applicable, and a focus on safe, effective specimen handling and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy program or certification preferred.
• Experience in Phlebotomy in a clinical setting.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Knowledge of safety protocols for handling hazardous materials.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Flexibility to work independently and accommodate a fixed schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and lab-related procedures on patients in a professional and courteous manner.
• Verify patient identities and maintain accurate records of all procedures performed.
• Educate patients on the collection process, specimen handling, and storage.
• Accurately label and package specimens for transport, ensuring proper handling.
• Communicate effectively with lab staff, management, and other healthcare professionals.
• Adhere to safety protocols, including handling and disposal of hazardous materials, in compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and lab policies.
• Engage in ongoing training and development related to phlebotomy, lab procedures, and safety protocols.
