Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of certified phlebotomy program is preferred.
• CPR certification is required.
• Completion of phlebotomy externship or 1 year of phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy procedures accurately within established turn-around times.
• Recognizes abnormal situations and investigates before delivering specimens.
• Transports specimens to the laboratory promptly.
• Answers calls politely and provides information.
• Monitors specimen integrity and ensures documentation for medical necessity.
• Follow safety standards dictated by lab, hospital, and regulatory agencies.
