Job summary

Stanford Health Care ValleyCare seeks a Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture, specimen preparation, and clerical duties in the laboratory. You will facilitate specimen flow, enter collection data, and ensure accurate labeling and documentation.

Requirements include a high school diploma, CPT certification, and BLS. Weekend rotations and microbiology support duties are part of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of ASPT program or 100 hours on-the-job training within SHC - Valley Care.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT).
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary puncture to obtain specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Identifies, labels and transports specimens to designated areas.
• Enter specimen collection information and other forms of communication in the computer.
• Processes specimens for send outs to referral laboratories and SCH-VC facilities.
• Assists in microbiology culture setup and related tasks.
