Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect and process patient specimens in compliance with lab protocols. You will perform routine tests and prepare samples to ensure accurate results, following collection procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience required.
• Prior phlebotomy experience in a medical setting preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal phlebotomy training required; ASCP, NHA or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and collect specimens via phlebotomy with proper labels.
• Verify, process, and ship specimens; prepare instruments for testing.
• Perform pre-analytic steps including registration and ordering as needed.
• Deliver outstanding customer service with clear communication and professionalism.
• Handle clerical tasks such as phone calls, report generation and faxing.

Position Responsibilities

• Patient identification, phlebotomy, specimen labeling
• Specimen verification, processing, shipment and front loading on instruments for testing
• Performs pre-analytical processes including registration, and ordering
• Provides outstanding customer service by demonstrating effective and appropriate communication and interpersonal skills.
• Performs clerical functions including but not limited to telephone communication, report generation and faxing

Required Experience

Previous customer service experience with demonstrated ability to perform detailed clerical work. Previous experience working as a Phlebotomist in a medical setting preferred. Good interpersonal and time management skills.

Required Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Training / Certification / Licensure

Formal phlebotomy training required. ASCP, NHA or AMT certification preferred.

Salary: $25.00 - $25.00 Hourly
