Job summary

Virtua is seeking a dedicated phlebotomist to collect and process patient specimens, adhering to laboratory protocols and ensuring accurate test results. You will perform pre- and post-analytic duties, maintain proper sample handling, and support courteous patient interactions in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires formal phlebotomy training and may prefer ASCP/NHA/AMT certification, with prior customer service experience valued. On-site position with standard healthcare facility hours.

Work Schedule:

Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri - 5:00am to 1:30pm.

Off on Thursday.

Every other weekend (Sat & Sun) - 5:00am to 1:30pm.

One summer and one winter holiday.

Job Summary:

Adhere to correct policy and procedures in carrying out routine tasks. Collects and processes patient specimens for testing in adherence with laboratory protocols. Perform laboratory tests including pre- and post-analytic phases. Prepare samples/specimens for producing accurate and reliable results by following collection procedure.

Position Responsibilities:

Required Experience:

Previous customer service experience with demonstrated ability to perform detailed clerical work. Previous experience working as a phlebotomist in a medical setting preferred. Good interpersonal and time management skills.

Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Training / Certification / Licensure:

Formal phlebotomy training required. ASCP, NHA or AMT certification preferred.
