Job summary

Valley Medical Group in Easthampton, MA seeks a Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team on a per diem basis. The role involves collecting blood from patients of all ages and supporting front-desk tasks as needed.

Typical hours are Monday-Friday, between 6:30am and 5:00pm; exact schedule will be discussed at interview. Qualified candidates have a Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program, prior customer service or medical office experience, and proficiency with computers, data entry, and EMR

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Phlebotomy Program or Medical Assistant Program.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior customer service or medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples from patients of all ages.
• Process and accession clinical specimens.
• Check in/out patients, schedule appointments, answer phones, greet patients.

Position: Phlebotomist

Location: Easthampton

Hours: Per diem, typical hours Monday-Friday generally between 6:30am-5:00pm. Hours may vary depending on department needs. Exact schedule to be discussed at time of interview.

As a Phlebotomist, the candidate must have the ability to collect blood from patients of all ages through venipuncture. A successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, good customer service skills, and be proficient in computers, data entry, and the operation of equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• Collecting samples from patients of all ages
• Processing and accessions of clinical specimens
• Checking patients in and out, scheduling appointments, answering phones, greeting patients

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from a Phlebotomy Program or Medical Assistant Program
• Previous customer service or medical office experience
• High School graduate or equivalent

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• CPT preferred, but not required
• EMR experience preferred, Athena experience a plus
