Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients, assisting with health routines or health decisions.
- Draws quality blood samples and prepares specimens for lab testing, following established procedures.
- Creates a trusting environment, explains procedures, and performs venipuncture skillfully, safely, and accurately.
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy.
- May be assigned to a doctor's office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
- Performs daily activities accurately and timely under supervision.
- Maintains a safe, professional environment.
- Handles forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following procedures.
- Verifies patient demographic info and labels, including patient signatures post-venipuncture.
- Maintains records and documentation.
- Promotes a positive image to patients, staff, and the public.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Adherence to policies, dress code, and safety protocols.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
- Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with short notice.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
- Strong customer focus, communication skills, adaptability, and business knowledge.
- Training locations vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
- At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
