Position Overview: The Client Service Specialist I ensures BBG's clients receive timely and accurate assistance with claims, billing, and benefit inquiries. This role involves collaborating with agency staff to facilitate renewals, maintaining communication with carrier representatives, managing client inquiries, updating the client management portal, and supporting other divisions as needed.

Work Arrangement: This is a full-time, remote position reporting to our Fairfax, VA office.

Professional Responsibilities:

  1. Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs and delivering exceptional service.
  2. Support clients in resolving claims, billing, and benefit questions promptly and accurately, ensuring satisfaction.
  3. Manage clients assigned by the Benefits Consultant.
  4. Proactively anticipate client needs and offer assistance, providing solutions to other divisions.
  5. Collaborate with all divisions to ensure smooth renewal processes and team success.
  6. Communicate effectively via phone, email, and other channels with clients and carriers.
  7. Foster relationships with carrier representatives.
  8. Respond promptly and accurately to inquiries, ensuring clarity and helpfulness.
  9. Update the client management portal regularly with accurate information.
  10. Participate in team meetings, contribute to strategies, and facilitate Open Enrollment and other initiatives.
  11. Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies; engage in ongoing training.
  12. Advise clients on federal and state compliance changes as needed.
  13. Support enrollment and backlog tasks as requested, especially during peak periods.
  14. Maintain accurate client contact details and group addresses in the system.
  15. Assist clients with access to carrier platforms.
  16. Coordinate with internal divisions regarding client updates and carrier info.
Qualifications And Requirements:
  • 0 to 3 years of experience in customer support or account management (Required)
  • High School Diploma/GED (Required)
  • Virginia Life and Health Insurance License (can be obtained after hire)
  • Experience in employee benefits (Preferred)
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field (Preferred)
  • Understanding of employee benefits programs, compliance, trends, and best practices.
  • Empathetic, responsive, and proactive in client support.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Proficiency in CRM, Microsoft Office, and related tools.
  • Organized with good project management skills.
  • Committed to industry knowledge and compliance updates.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.
