Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Formal phlebotomy program preferred.
• Previous phlebotomy experience and/or phlebotomy certification required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood specimens (skin puncture and venipuncture), nasal and throat swabs and other non-blood specimens.
• Verifies orders and processes specimen identification, transport, and disposal.
• Performs order entry transcription for laboratory tests.
• Conducts select Point of Care testing as needed.
• Maintains safety procedures and proper handling of hazardous materials.
