Job summary

Corpus Christi Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Phlebotomist to obtain and prepare specimens for analysis and perform screening tests. You will collect venous and capillary blood samples, verify patient identification, and maintain safety protocols in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Two to three years experience in a clinical phlebotomy setting preferred.
• Proficient in phlebotomy technique including venipunctures and capillary sticks.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Must multi-task and be detail oriented; perform skills efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and prepare specimens for analysis and perform various screening tests.
• Collect venous and capillary blood samples using techniques (syringe, heel stick, venipunctures, finger sticks).
• Receive, process and distribute laboratory specimens and paperwork; stock supplies as needed.
• Verify patient identification at bedside; ensure safety and proper PPE usage; perform tasks as assigned by supervisor.
