CHRISTUS Health is seeking a phlebotomist to perform specimen collection, processing, and referrals. You will work with a team to ensure accurate specimen handling and timely referrals while maintaining compliance with CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, and PHI standards.

The role requires high school diploma or equivalent, completion of phlebotomy training, and preferred CPT certification. Bilingual English/Spanish and strong data entry skills are beneficial for patient interactions and lab workflows.

Qualifications

• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) preferred.
• Phlebotomy Tech license or state licensure preferred where applicable.

• Procures supplies for the department in coordination with the team lead.
• Performs all phlebotomy duties including specimen collection and processing.
• Prepares specimens for referral to outside labs and handles related paperwork and logistics.
• Performs venipuncture, capillary collection, urine drug screens, skin tests, and other specimen collections with proper technique.
• Ensures specimen requirements are met and maintains specimen integrity.
• Communicates effectively with customers, patients, families, nurses, physicians, and coworkers.
• Operates the laboratory computer system for documentation, orders, and lists.
• Performs other duties as assigned (on-call, inventory, special projects, cross-training).
• Completes performance evaluations and competency assessments on schedule.
