Job summary

Corpus Christi Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist to obtain and prepare specimens for analysis, including venous and capillary blood collections using various techniques. You will ensure proper patient identification, safety, and PPE use while supporting laboratory operations and specimen processing.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Two to three years experience in a clinical/phlebotomy setting preferred.
• Proficient in phlebotomy technique including venipunctures and capillary sticks.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented.
• Must perform skills efficiently and accurately.
• BCLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and prepare specimens for analysis.
• Perform screening tests as indicated.
• Collect venous and capillary blood samples using syringe, heel stick, venipunctures, finger sticks.
• Receive, process and distribute specimens; stock supplies as needed.
• Verify patient identification at bedside; ensure safety and PPE compliance.
• Perform tasks assigned by Supervisor within training scope.
