Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy certification or training or CMA certification acceptable.
• One year of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collections per age-related standards.
• Demonstrate AIDET model and optimize patient safety.
• Review physician orders and enter accurate lab orders in systems.
• Communicate with patients and provide post-venipuncture care.
• Process specimens promptly to preserve sample integrity.
• Maintain proper specimen labeling, handling, and transport procedures.
• Monitor refrigerator temps and QC/QA records as required.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment; communicate delays or issues.
• Complete clerical duties related to orders and results in EMR systems.
• Support cost reduction and efficient workflow initiatives.
