Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and specimen processing, enter orders, and support patient care. This full-time role requires adherence to AIDET, lab policies, and accuracy in patient information.

You will work Monday–Friday 8am–4:30pm, with possible weekend rotations. Must have a high school diploma and phlebotomy certification; EMR familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized organization or school, or CMA certification.
• Experience with patient communication and teamwork in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and lab specimen collections per age-related standards and protocols.
• Demonstrates patient-centered care and uses AIDET to optimize patient safety.
• Enter orders and verify test results accurately across systems.
• Coordinate specimen processing, labeling, centrifuging, and transport according to procedures.
• Maintain safe work environment and proper biohazard handling.
