Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized organization or CMA certification.
• Experience in phlebotomy in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and other lab specimen collections per standards and policies.
• Demonstrates AIDET model and prioritizes patient safety.
• Receives and reviews physician orders; enters accurate lab orders per policy.
• Maintains post-phlebotomy patient communication and care.
• Processes specimens timely to preserve integrity; labels, centrifuges and packages as required.
• Maintains equipment operation and ensures timely completion of orders.
• Notifies Lab/Physician of specimen procurement issues and coordinates care.
