Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland in Texas City seeks a Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. Under supervision, you will collect venous and capillary samples, prepare specimens for analysis, and assist with processing and distribution of laboratory paperwork.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of clinical/phlebotomy experience, strong communication, and the ability to multi-task while maintaining patient safety and proper PPE use.

Qualifications

• Two to three years experience in a clinical/phlebotomy setting preferred.
• Proficient in phlebotomy technique, including venipunctures and capillary sticks.
• BCLS certification required from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and prepare specimens for analysis and perform various screening tests as indicated.
• Collect venous and capillary blood samples using techniques (syringe, heel stick, venipunctures, finger stick).
• Receive, process and distribute laboratory specimens, distribute departmental paperwork, and stock supplies as needed.
