Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Birmingham, AL team. You will perform venipuncture and capillary collections for diverse patient populations, handle specimen processing, and support data entry and billing tasks.

This role emphasizes exceptional patient service and accurate record-keeping. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, plus phlebotomy certification or training (or 3+ months of phlebotomy experience); 2+ years of phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• 2 year or more of phlebotomy experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
