Job summary

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the laboratory team. You will perform venous blood collection and blood culture procedures, ensuring patient safety and accurate labeling for billing.

The role requires basic computer skills, strong communication, and preferred phlebotomy experience. Offsite travel for specimen pickup may be required, and a valid driver's license is necessary for some locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Current BLS certification required or obtained prior to orientation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Phlebotomy skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venous blood collection procedures with minimal patient discomfort.
• Perform blood culture collection procedures.
• Identify patients by requisition and ID band prior to venipuncture.
• Dispose of sharps in a rigid container and follow standard precautions.
• Monitor computer/labels to ensure accurate collections and billing.
