Job summary

Mountain Community Health Partnership is seeking a full-time phlebotomist to support patient care through specimen collection, testing, and customer service. The role involves venipuncture, capillary collection, CLIA-waived testing, documentation, and coordination with providers and laboratory services.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of phlebotomy experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and phlebotomy certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Phlebotomy certification.
• Two or more years of phlebotomy experience; bilingual preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding and medical office practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; willing to travel between MCHP locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections for patients of all ages using venipuncture and capillary techniques.
• Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing and analysis.
• Conduct CLIA-waived in-house laboratory testing and document results.
• Perform quality control procedures and maintain compliance records.
• Enter patient, specimen, insurance, and billing information into the EMR system accurately.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and perform routine instrument maintenance.
• Ensure proper handling, transport, and documentation of specimens.
• Educate patients regarding specimen collection procedures.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after specimen collection.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA standards.
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance activities.
• Support clinic operations through teamwork, cross-training, and excellent customer service.
