Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, national certification in Medical Assisting or Phlebotomy, and 1+ years of relevant experience with lab instrumentation and data entry. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• National certification in Medical Assistance or Phlebotomy.
• 1+ years operating laboratory instrumentation.
• 1+ years maintaining collection materials.
• 1+ years preparing written reports and inputting data.
• Intermediate computer literacy.
• Intermediate knowledge of laboratory techniques for routine tests.
• Basic medical terminology required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares equipment to collect blood products.
• Performs venipuncture using vacutainer, syringe, and butterfly methods; labels specimens.
• Conducts designated laboratory testing.
• Instructs patients on urine collection procedures and allocates specimens.
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment and work area.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and accurate data entry.
• Monitors biohazard waste and ensures preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Responds to abnormal/panic values promptly.
