Job summary

The Clinic @ Central Oklahoma Family Medical Center in Oklahoma seeks a Phlebotomist in the Ancillary department. The role performs waived testing and corresponding controls, and assists with supply inventory while maintaining patient confidentiality as required by COFMC policies.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Training appropriate for the tests being administered.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture on adults and pediatrics.
• Performs capillary blood collection on adults and pediatrics.
• Processes specimens according to test specifications.
• Records workload and test results according to established lab protocols.
• Processes pap smear results and keeps the tickler file for followup.
• Performs waived and approved testing using appropriate equipment and materials.
• Performs and appropriately documents quality control procedures, instrument checks and maintenance reports.
• Consults with supervisor when controls are out of range, test results are abnormal, or testing difficulties arise.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and works well with others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
