Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of phlebotomy experience or a phlebotomy certificate.
• Preferred: hospital/lab experience and basic understanding of medical laboratory technology.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens from patients via venipuncture or capillary puncture.
• Provide phlebotomy services in inpatient, outpatient and offsite areas as ordered by the physician.
• Enter data into computer databases and maintain logs and statistics.
• Supervise and teach students in phlebotomy and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Maintain inventory of supplies for daily collections.
• Occasionally substitute to other shifts and perform related duties.
