Job summary

Labcorp in Stony Brook, NY is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our patient-centered team. You will perform blood collection by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups, enter patient data accurately, and help maintain specimen logs.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and phlebotomy certification or training, with at least 3 months experience; preferred is 1+ year of phlebotomy experience. Schedule: Mon-Fri 6:30am-3:00pm, rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training; or 3 months experience as phlebotomist.
• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
