Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with one year of phlebotomy experience or a phlebotomy certificate.
• Preferred: prior hospital/lab experience.
• May require knowledge of data entry and basic clerical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood specimens from patients using venipuncture or capillary puncture techniques.
• Provides phlebotomy services in inpatient, outpatient, and offsite areas as ordered by physicians.
• Enters specimen data into computer systems and maintains appointment schedules and logs.
• Supervises and supports students in phlebotomy theory and practice.
• Attends hospital in-service programs and maintains supply inventory.
• Performs related duties and may substitute shifts as needed.
