Job summary

Southeast Georgia Health System is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages and transport them to the laboratory for analysis. You will ensure patient safety and comfort while maintaining a compassionate approach and strong teamwork across the patient care staff.

Responsibilities include proper venipuncture and skin puncture techniques, accurate tube labeling, adherence to specimen handling procedures, and routine use of computer systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certification in Phlebotomy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating correct venipuncture and skin puncture procedures for patients of all ages.
• Labeling tubes immediately after collection and never pre-labeling.
• Following procedures for specimen collection, labeling, handling and transport.
• Demonstrating understanding of using computer systems.
• Performing laboratory support functions as applicable.
• Assisting nursing units with specimen collection, transport and supplies.
• Working flexible hours to include weekends and holidays.
