Job summary

Liberty Regional Medical Center is seeking a phlebotomist to collect, prepare and transport specimens to the Laboratory in accordance with accreditation standards and regulations.

The role provides safe and efficient laboratory services to patients across all age groups, and includes clerical duties and stock distribution as part of laboratory support functions.

Qualifications

• Completion of a phlebotomy program or equivalent training.
• Computer skills and basic clinical competence preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Experience with advanced phlebotomy in all areas preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect, prepare and transport specimens to the Laboratory for analysis in accordance with accreditation standards, federal, state, and local regulations, and organizational policies.
• Provide safe and efficient laboratory services to neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
• Perform laboratory support functions including clerical duties, receiving and distribution of stock; refer unusual problems to supervisor.

Job Summary

This position is for a phlebotomist whose responsibility is to collect, prepare and transport specimens to Laboratory for analysis in accordance with accreditation standards, federal, state, and local regulations, organizational and departmental policies and procedures and professional standards. Provides safe and efficient laboratory services to neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patient populations. Performs laboratory support functions, to include, but not limited to clerical duties, receiving and distribution of stock. Refers unusual clinical and administrative problems to supervisor or designee. The position reports to the Supervisor of Laboratory.

QualificationsJOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum level of Education: Education level equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school preferred. Completion of a program in phlebotomy. Verified on the job experience acceptable.
• Formal Training: Clinical competence in medical technology and basic computer skills preferred.
• Licensure, Certificates & Registration: Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Work Experience: Advanced phlebotomy skills in all areas.
