Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Phlebotomist I for the Gainesville, GA area. This part-time role involves blood collection by venipuncture and capillary methods for all ages, with a fast-paced environment and strict safety and patient-care standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, and certification in phlebotomy is preferred; laboratory experience is a plus. Training and growth within NGHS are supported.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred through approved organization (ASCP, National Phlebotomy Association, American Medical Technologist, National Performance Specialist, National Healthcareer Association).
• Previous laboratory experience in a lab setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs Phlebotomy Technique in a professional manner.
• Presents the Lab in a positive light to the public.
• Correctly performs routine venipuncture.
• Discerns Phlebotomy Techniques according to the condition of the patient.
• Follows safety guidelines to ensure safety of the patient as well as own safety.
• Works well with other departments to coordinate special collections.
• Delivers clinical specimens efficiently and effectively to the laboratory.
• Maintains QA/QC logs for Phlebotomy and Specimen Processing.
• Prioritizes work to meet turnaround requirements.
• Assists in training of new phlebotomy employees or students.
