Job summary

Responsibilities include LIS entry, specimen labeling, and result distribution with a focus on patient safety. The candidate should have minimal experience, strong communication skills, and a willingness to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum: less than 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy or Registered Medical Assistant certificate; hospital setting experience incl. pediatrics, geriatrics, oncology, and neonates.
• Strong computer skills, specimen processing, and excellent interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy in accordance with established National Patient Safety Goals and Baptist Health protocols.
• Receives specimens into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) accurately and timely; labels, transports, centrifuges, and aliquots specimens.
• Distributes specimens to testing sections; prioritizes STAT over Routine; faxes and distributes results as appropriate.
