Job summary

Job description

Location: Salina, KS, 415 East Prescott, Salina, KS 67401.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm; additional days/hours as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program.
• Three (3) years or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• Experience drawing on pediatrics.

Additional Job Standards

• Phlebotomy certification or training program must be from an accredited agency if work experience is lacking.
• Able to pass a standardized color‑blindness test.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

• Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
• Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD, 401(k), paid time off (PTO) or flexible time off (FTO), tuition reimbursement, and employee stock purchase plan.
• Employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours, casual, intern, and temporary employees are eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan only.
