Job summary

Mission Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Phlebotomist to serve as the interface between patients and laboratory services. You will perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens for diagnostic testing, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with preferred phlebotomy training and ASCP/ASPT certification. One year of hospital lab or clinic experience is favored. This is a full-time opportunity at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Role Summary:Represents the hospital and department by serving as an interface between the client (patient, physicians, nursing, etc.), and laboratory technical areas. Performs a variety of venipuncture techniques involved in the collection of blood specimens from patients for laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Ensures proper patient care by prioritizing physician orders and collecting blood as required.

What qualifications you will need:

• Required Education: High school diploma or GED
• Preferred Education: Completion of a phlebotomy training program
• Preferred Certification: ASPT or ASCP certification
• Preferred Experience: One-year previous experience in a hospital laboratory, clinic, or physician practice
